Creekview HS and Janie Stark ES receive school of excellence award from National PTA

The Creekview HS PTSA, (Parent Teacher Student Association), and Janie Stark ES PTA, (Parent Teacher Association), were recently named 2022-24 schools of excellence by the National PTA. These two CFBISD PTA/PTSA programs received a School of Excellence award for the outstanding level of support given to their campus and community.

“This is an incredible honor and accomplishment which exemplifies just how strong our partnership is between our school, families and community,” said Leon Sulak, Principal of Creekview HS. “We are thankful for the time and hard work so many of our families and staff members have given to create the strong PTSA culture at Creekview High School.”

The School of Excellence is a recognition program that celebrates partnerships between schools and families and supports student’s educational experience and overall well-being. Nationwide, only 368 PTAs and schools were chosen to receive this prestigious award.

“It is an honor that the Janie Stark PTA received this award,” said Jennifer Putman, Principal of Stark ES. “The Stark PTA has a rich history of bringing the community together to benefit our students. Becoming a school of excellence was a joint-commitment between our PTA and campus team who work together to support families, communicate effectively, promote student success, advocate for every child and collaborate with the community. This action plan for school improvement enables our community and families to invest in the educational experience and support the overall well-being of our students. Working alongside them is such a privilege, and I am thrilled they have been recognized for their outstanding support.”

The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Council PTA, organized in 1959, supports 36 PTAs including 1 early childhood PTA, 24 elementary PTAs, 6 middle school PTAs and 5 high school PTSAs. The objectives of Council PTA are to:

  • Unify and strengthen Local PTAs comprising this Council PTA

  • Provide for the conference and cooperation of the Local PTAs in Council PTA membership to create a public opinion favorable to the interests of child welfare

  • To encourage child welfare projects in the various Local PTAs

  • Assist in the formation of new Local PTAs according to the plan of the Texas PTA

  • Promote the interest and membership of the National PTA and of the Texas PTA within its territory that does not duplicate the work of Local PTAs.
