Two CFBISD Female Powerlifting Athletes Headed to State Championships

Powerlifting in high schools across the state of Texas has become a popular sport, with thousands of athletes choosing to compete. The sport has become extremely popular with female athletes. At Creekview High School in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, two female powerlifters are taking it to the next level by competing at the Texas State Championships on March 19 and 20 in Corpus Christi.

Veronica Venegas and Jacqueline Calderon will represent the Lady Mustangs as they lift for Gold on March 19 and 20 at the State High School Powerlifting Championships. We are incredibly proud of these girls and all of our other powerlifters from Creekview, Smith, and Ranchview, as they represented us very well at Regionals. Head Coach Sam Gray and Assistant Coach Josh Reliford coached the Creekview women athletes.
